Ricardo Jacques Galé, is a Cuban/American Cinematographer. He began his career in Miami as a production assistant before moving to Los Angeles to attend USC Film School.

In 1984, Ricardo was certified to operate Steadicam by it’s inventor, Garrett Brown and went on to become quite an accomplished operator for the next 9 years.

As with many others, Roger Corman gave Ricardo his first feature credit as a Cinematographer in 1987.

In 1998, The feature, “ West Beirut “, ( shot in Beirut ) garnered the François Chalais Award at the Cannes Film Festival and the International Critics Award at the Toronto Film Festival. Ricardo’s work on the feature, “ Touching Home “, received the Best Cinematography award at the 2007, Melbourne Film Festival . In 2011, a short that Ricardo photographed, “The Void“, also screened at Cannes.

Ricardo is fluent in Spanish and has filmed in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Central and South America, The Pacific Rim and across the USA.
